Thank you cathooker2 for sharing your vids and pics with us!!! It's awesome! I sure miss those simple Myrtle Beach days.

Back in the day (70's - early 80's) our family stayed at The Islander, The Seaweed and the Surf Rider. But the real treat for me was staying with my grandparents at The Helena Villa!!! My grandpa loved it because it was only $18 a night, but grandma hated it because it wasn't "fancy". Anyhow, I certainly cherish those days spent with my late grandparents at the old HV. Sadly it was torn down in the 90's and a parking garage put in it's place.

It was located across the street from the Dayton House, near the Parker House, and I remember sitting on the front porch looking north and seeing The Carnival motel a few block up. It didn't have a pool but we were allowed to use the pool at the motel next door, which I think was called the Beachcomber.

Anyhow, I scanned in the HV post card. Feel free to copy and use at will!!

What a wonderful bit of nostalgia. The post card is awesome. So much of Myrtle Beach has changed since I went there when my kids were little. Now they are 35 and 31. Good memories like this will always be with you. Sue

Thanks for the image I had the same one in my file but it was very small. I like to read the ammenities like air conditioning and carpeted floors, TVS in room.
