Here are just a few of my favorite things and memories about Myrtle Beach. I can't wait until the 3rd week in June so I can add some more!

The way my girlfriend (and now wife years later) looked the one night we went to Hard Rock Cafe the first time - every time I see that picture it is like I was there again.

Seeing pictures of me at Myrtle when I was two and then seeing my son and daughter there at the same age.

Winning our flight at the Father and Son golf Tourney.

The ability to sleep sound for one week out of the year.

Dad insisting that Papa Johns Pizza in Myrtle is better than at home. And I insist Krispy Kreme are better at the beach though.

The hush puppies at Drunken jacks and the goats on the island.

The Squirrels coming up to our screen door.

Mom spraying her coffee all over me after I told a funny joke.

The time at BATB when it poured down rain and the Johnny Rockets kids still did their line dance.

The dragon at BATB.

Ripleys Aquarium

The Beach, The Pool, The Relaxation.

The totally awesome BBQ ribs and chicken combo from Caddy Shack RIP (I’ll miss you forever)

After our four month son crying for miles we stopped and South of the Border and vowed we would never stop there again.

The countless times being embarrassed and watching people be embarrassed at Dicks Last Resort.

Dad’s unbelievable sand play every time we played Summer Family Fun golf scrambles.

The looks on the faces of a group of 12 year old boys while they ate wings at Hooters

Playing 108 holes of golf in five days.

That huge crater of a sand trap at the Legends.

The first time I saw a gator near our condo.

The new highway 31 and 22 and wondering how people traveled before them

The anticipation to get back yet another year.

I found something online that I wanted to share, and it does a very good job of telling a story of one of my fondest memories - the Pavillion. Many of you know from reading my posts that I have been vacationing in the Myrtle Beach area since I was 9 years old.

The world just wouldn't feel right to me unless I spent the week of July 4th in's just something I've always done.

So, without further adieu - I present:

Over the years , and since 1974 , there has been a plethora of memories that I remember visiting Myrtle Beach. Probably ,some of the comments aren't aligned with others that have contributed, but rest assure those memories just can't be put on paper. They are instilled in the heart and brain , and are used to fend off the economy, gas pumps and any wars:
MEMORIES of MYRTLE BEACH( and in no order)
Winning the Father and Son flight tournament
Family Fun golf tournaments
Trips down I-95 , and finding new ways to get there from Pittsburgh
Owning a condo for 7 years at Island Green
First time at South of the Border
Planning the trip , saving money(change) for gas
The smell(pines) , the ocean, the restaurants( Drunken Jack's hush puppies)
Barefoot and Broadway at the Beach
Condo at Surfside , on the beach( and my new grandson/5 months)
Now, a grand daughter , age 2 , and the grandson is 4
Doing everything with family, nothing is more important
Sitting in the surf on my chair reading and listening to audio books
Easter brunch at Pawleys Island Hammock Shops
Caddyshack ribs with my son( Panzer)
My wife with me enjoying the freedom of the South and what it offers
Traffic in Conway -ouch( now a 22 by-pass)
Gators on the golf course
Waking up my son to take a fish off the hook from the pond at Island Green
Papa Johns (pizza)always as the first food upon visiting
Walks at the ocean at night and body surfing/hot sand
Playing so much golf(108 holes) my arm turned colors
Martin's golf store
Dick's Last Resort
Pictionary game with our Family
MB golf courses
How many surf shops can you shop?
Rain ,rain and more rain at Johnny Rockets/dancing in the rain
Walking the boardwalks at BATB/huge carp
Chinese acrobats at the Palace/great show
Our friendly squirell's peanut butter dessert
Rushing to the restaurants to beat the crowds
My son's sand shot in Family Fun tournament
Pine Lakes, Shaftesbury Glen , Glen Dornach, Myrtlewood, Wild Wing,Legends, Wicked Stick, Island Green, River Hills, Wachesaw, Heron Point, Farmstead, Myrtle National, Arrowhead
Watching the leader board at Wild Wing/Father and Son
We won,we won ! Can you believe it ?

I'd rather drink sea water

Standing on the winners podium at Wild Wing with my son
Experiencing the constant changes and new places to shop, eat and play
Listening to the night creatures at Island Green
Holding my son(age2) on the beach(1974), and now watching him with his children/can't get better than this
Coming full circle and starting a new chapter with my grandkids and our Family
