Since I have been down here I have watched them fishing on the pier while on the beach. I have never fished before and would like to try pier fishing. Can I just go to Garden City Pier and rent a rod and go or do I need to learn something more than drop the line in the water before I go?

Just go and fish. The piers include license fees and the rod rentals run around $5-8 per day, depending on the pier. You can buy your bait there too. (Somebody said to stay away from eating lunch where they sell bait.) :clown:

They sell bait at 2nd Ave. Pier and if you're suppose to stay away from eating lunch where they sell bait because it's bait that they are feeding you, then I have to say I love eating bait :D Because the 2nd Ave Pier restaurant is definitely our #1 favorite place to eat in Myrtle Beach now after 2 visits.
