Sorry I haven't finished my trip report. We arrived back home Saturday and had a great trip to MB
On the fourth of July my 10 year old nephew went to the emergency room because he looked a little swollen. The doctor there requested that he should be taken on to the University of Kentucky Children's hospital because his x-ray showed something that was abnormal. I actually talked to the little guy that evening and he said that he felt okay, so we basically expected an antibiotic and a trip back home.

Anyway, once he went to UK they diagnosed him with non-hodkins lymphoma. The prognosis is usually pretty good for this particular cancer at his age, but the child is going to have to endure a tough year of chemo and sickness trying to beat this horrible disease. Prayers for my nephew Jake would be appreciated.

Oh I am so so sorry to hear this! Prayers are being said! My dad had non-hodkins lymphoma back in the late 1980's and lived a long full life!! I'm sure the treatments today are even so much more advanced! Prayers and blessings for Jake and your whole family!!

Sorry to hear about your nephew. My daughter's best friend suffered through that in high school and has now been cancer free for 28 years. Wishing him the best ands sending positive vibes your way.

Hi. I have been a visitor on this site for years. It is a little sad but I feel like I know everybody on the site. It took this post to make me sign on. I have been coming to Myrtle beach for 50 years and I love it. We are pretty informed about things that are available in the area. I have enjoyed the reviews of restaurant and attractions etc. It hurt my heart when the site went down for a short period of time and was thrilled when it came back up. It may be odd but I feel a connection to everyone on the board. We have had a rough year with a newborn grandson with some medical issues and I am so thankful he is doing well. I hope and pray things do well for the special angel. thanks. sheila

Sheila, thank you for posting. Believe it or not, I am on a travel forum for Sandals and other all-inclusive resorts. I read every word. I feel like I "know" many people there, but hardly ever post unless I have a specific question or a trip report. So I totally understand where you're coming from. Please feel free to post whenever you feel like it...or not.

Wally and I have been so fortunate over the years to have personally met and become friends with many of our members. It really is like an extended family.

Thanks for all the prayers. They seem to be working. The tumor is responding well to the chemo treatment and he was removed from the ventilator yesterday and actually moved out of ICU to a regular room today. Still in a lot of pain and starting to have sickness from the chemo. A long road ahead, but it looks as though that the outcome will be positive.

So glad to hear this news. Will continue to keep your family in our thoughts and prayers!
