Just came across some interesting info on "weather" that likely will affect every region of the US...And Myrtle Beach... FYI

Ok so I took the time to read the article and concluded that they have no idea what's going to happen same as every other year.

This weather phenomenon is not so phenomena when it has nothing to do with anything.

Seriously, read it if you get time. I'd be embarrassed to publish a report like that.

I guess you can say all weather forecasting is clueless.... cause it relies on weather software which makes assumptions which can be (and frequently are) false. But forecasting is far beyond what it was many moons ago.... particularly hurricane tracking. Yes, I know it's not bullet-proof, but we live in an uncertain world. Add all the doom-and-gloom weather channels which feed off TV ratings dramatizing everything and no wonder people are fed up.

But.... I do a lot of boating, and check out a variety of weather resources so I can be prepared when sailing far from shore. No sites are 100%, but Weather Underground is the one I rely on the most. Dr Masters does a great job explaining the basics of weather and how it relates to his forecasts. He also does not blindly follow NOAA guidance like so many other sites (and news forecasters) do.

If you are looking for information overload on weather, check out L-36.com's weather info. They do a terrific job consolidating many weather inputs, but it can be overwhelming:

http://l-36.com/weather.php?lat=38.93&lon=-76.45&point1=Highland+Beach,+MD&point2=Marine+Location+Near+Highland+Beach,+MD&tide1=Bay+Ridge,+Maryland&tide2=Baltimore+Harbor+Approach,+Maryland+Current&lat_long1=38.93,-76.45&radar=DOX&radar2=LWX&station=lwx&ports=8574729&rss=44063&rss2=tplm2&rss3=apam2&airport=KNAK&geos=east/ma&lat_long2=38.93,-76.45&yd10=on&zone1=ANZ532&zone2=ANZ500&v=0.50

Thanks for posting Wally !

I am so depressed, hardly any sunlight, numerous days with rain! It's rained here 27 days out of the last 36. It was sunny today tho :sunny: 2nd time in a pool this summer.

So looking forward to vacation, even tho it may be raining there too. At least it will be a change of scenery tho.

Kirk, You are so right. we had a real downpour with a lot of lightning tonight and out popular TV weather forecaster made a twitter comment about how the storm came out of nowhere. Like he didn't have a clue... See, you are right... Rich it's so dry and hot down here that nice rainstorm tonight won't help much. It was upper 90's today... We went out the door and slammed into a wall of heat. But supposed to cool a bit next week... We'll take some of your rain and cool weather... :nanner: :nanner: OOPS Cathy... Not Rich... But hello to both of you...! See you again soon!

Phroggy, I agree that no one really knows where these storms will go. I do enjoy watching the different group forecast paths. Then I pick my own. But the real reason I posted that story was not as much for the weather here, but how it was affecting the weather up north as well. All across the northers US... Who knows...??? :smash[1]:

Cathy .. have to agree with you on the rain.. yesterday was nice but its raining now.. and if it does rain when we are in MB at least its a change .. We haven't gotten in the pool because we took the old one out (above ground deck is built around it) and have already purchased the new one .. hubbys schedule has kept him from putting it up (more complicated than 18 yrs ago) so the people from the pool place was suppose to put it in last week but couldn't because of the rain.
