Tip for Pizza Delivery?

You order a pizza and garlic bread. Order is around $25.00 and they add on a $3.50 delivery charge. Do you still tip the delivery guy seeing as you have paid $3.50 for that delivery. If you do tip, how much ???

I've never done pizza delivery, so I can't say how much to tip. However, up here there is a delivery charge and they say up front that it is not a tip.

We've only ordered pizza from UCP. The delivery is usually free with a coupon from one of the coupon books. If not free, the delivery is $2. We usually tip the pizza person $2.

As a gamecock fan I'd be willing to spend just about anything to get the Clemson grad off my porch.

Delivery fee? Never heard of it if you order at least $20 in food and that's never a problem. Regardless, tip at least $3, cheap skate. Otherwise, pick it up if you're that concerned about a few bucks.

Well, we live so far out in the country...there is no true delivery...but the closest pizza shop will meet us halfway between our home and the closest town...(we consider this GREAT)...there is no delivery charge and we always tip the driver(we are so grateful that they will meet us halfway)...and we consider it a wonderful luxury to order food in when on vacations...because it is not an option for us here at home!

:fart: Go GAMECOCKS!

We have never had pizza deliver while in MB. At home, we mormally try to tip $2 per pizza. We normally order 1-2 pizzas.

We do not tip for pizza delivery.
We get our pizza from Surfside Pizza in Surfside Beach. Unfortunately, they only deliver on the beach side of 17 Business so I have to pick it up. As far as tipping, my wife has never once given me a tip for delivering the pizza.
I remind her each time that the pizza delivery man should always get a tip. Her response is always the same, " When you start tipping the person that puts your dinner on the table every night, I will begin tipping for pizza delivery". No way I come out ahead on that one, so, no we do not tip for Pizza delivery.

I see it differently: nowadays, finding a job is not easy, and earning a living is harder.
I have a lot of respect for the person who brings food to my door or to my table at the restaurant, and I reward him/her with a good tip when I get a chance.

We usually tip the delivery person well, since they spend time alone with our food :???: ! They also use their own vehicles most of the time, and I'm pretty sure they don't get compensated for that! And from what I understand, it is a very dangerous job in many areas!

At Least 3.00. Alot do drive their own vehicles. If you don't tip I call you a cheapskate.

My husband delivered pizzas once upon a time when times were tough and a $3 was a resonable minimum tip. They don't get paid much for gas, nor reimbursement for using their vehicle. If they are charging a delivery fee, I would ask what that was going to. It might not go to the driver and then they are the ones suffering.

Patrish is right, there are many bad areas to deliver to. Here in the metro area, there we buildings they weren't allowed to go into and the people had to come outside. One of the drivers were held up by a SWORD (NOT a knife) and that's when I said "YA NOT WORTH IT YOU ARE QUITING THIS JOB ASAP!"

I say, from experience in my famil, at least $3 in most circumstances. $5 was considered a good tip.
