Ok fall beach travelers...We will be in Myrtle Sept 28-Oct. 3, 2014...when I go for my walks in the morning(around 7-8am...will it be warm enough for cooler clothing or should I pack a hoodie and long yoga type pants? I know it warms up during the day...but I wondered about the early morning...hope it is not a silly question! And how about the evenings...shorts or jeans?

If you want to be on the safe side I would pack both.

That's about the time we usually go -- heading down Oct 11th this year, a little later - hoping the weather holds off. I usually take a hoodie/sweatshirt for the morning, with shorts its usually warm enough for me. I have taken a pair of jeans the past few years, and haven't needed them...just to be on the safe side!

Have a great trip!

We've been living here for 6 years and here's the secret: LAYERS. :nanner:
We walk on the beach almost every morning and the temperature can go up 10+ degrees within an hour, so in the "colder" seasons, I often leave wearing a tee shirt, topped with a long sleeve shirt, and a very light wind breaker. As the weather warms up, I can then take a layer off and tie it to my waist, or stash it in my backpack.
There is often a lot of humidity in the air, so I find that a fleece gets to bee too much because it "sucks" the humidity. That's why I prefer a light long sleeve topped with a light wind breaker, which will not gather as much humidity as a hoody.
Enjoy your fall trip. Life at the beach is the best!
