I know some of our members have recently hit upon some wet days while vacationing on the beach. What is your favorite activity to do in Myrtle while the weather is not in total cooperation mode? Do you venture out and about anyway? Where do you head to? Do you stay in and read/play games? Would love to hear your ideas :hello: !!

We usually head out for an early dinner somehwere and a few drinks if the weather ruins our beach time.

We do both. Head out to the mall and then somewhere to eat. I was raised at a cottage at the lake during the summer growing up. Big family, six kids and we played a lot of games and cards and we still do. One of our favourites is Rummikub. Dave and I love to play it and so do the kids so we always take it along as back up. There is also always the indoor pool.

Stone Theatres - Grand 14 - The Market Common. Matinée price $5. Rocking chair stadium seats. Excellent sound. Get the frequent user card and earn free movies.

Patrish is right. Great movie theater. Good place to go anytime. We have always found the staff very friendly and polite. I like the fact that they actually encourage you to bring in your Starbucks coffee. Actually I usually have purchased the coffee at the Barnes and Noble a few doors down from the movie theater. It is another great place to hang out on a rainy day. I love bookstores. I try to at least purchase a drink if I am going to hang out for awhile.

Shop, or sometimes we still sat on the beach if it wasnt real windy and a downpour. (When canopies were allowed.)

We have been shopping, eating out, playing games, reading, watching movies...waiting for the moments of no rain to take a quick walk...and just being lazy...doing nothing...many things to do on rainy days...loved your comment Phroggy! We have been doing some of that as well!

If you're from Phoenix you stand out in the rain and enjoy how good it feels.

Patrish - yes, we are still thinking about it. My wife will retire in April, I'll retire in May. MB is the place that makes us happiest, and the reasons to move there do not need to be listed. It seems that most (not all) who make the move to MB also have something they want to move away from, such as bad weather or high taxes. It would make the decision easier if we had something to move away from too, but we don't. The weather is awesome, taxes are close to what MB has, we like it here. But we have lots of time to think it over.

Another rainy day activity could be to buy a 6 pack and sit out on the balcony, maybe you'll get a nice thunder show.
