I put this in the browser:
google map 4807 Burchap Dr., Myrtle Beach

It pulled up a street map and with the "explore" button at the bottom I could zoom in and out of each image.

Then I entered:
for sale 4807 Burchap Dr., Myrtle Beach

You'll find a lot of real estate listings with photos. Here's a YpuTube.

Apparently it is "pending" with a sale price of $530,000

Thanks Patrish, the Burchap drive house was Pudge's house. I'm looking for more info on the plantation style house on the river in Georgetown. The Party House.

Response from Georgetown Chamber:

Hi Bradley,

I believe the house you are looking for is Belle Isle Plantation. The old house sits adjacent to the Belle Isle Yacht Club south of Georgetown. It faces Winyah Bay.

It’s privately owned and I’m not sure of the owner.

Wow - great research! I looked at the google map - I wish it was from a front view and not the top.

I'm glad everyone was able to locate the houses. I don't know why I've never tried to determine where any of the filmed areas actually were. I bet I've seen Shag 20 times, including twice since after Christmas. As for myself, I've always wondered where Buzz is supposed to be fishing. He's on a pier, but like on a lake. Definitely not the ocean or the Intercoastal Waterway.
I'm unsure why the movie wasn't a bigger hit. It had music/dancing AND a great party scene. What's not to love?

I don't remember it coming out back in the 80s, I discovered it about 5 years ago in the $5 bin of DVDs at Wal-Mart. Looked interesting and then I saw it was set in Myrtle Beach! I love it - love the music, love the shagging, the whole vibe. My favorite quote: "Now, we can have a good time...but, we cannot be wild"

You can date it to the 80s because in the cruising scene you can see the Corkscrew at the Pavilion before it was torn out to put in the Hurricane coaster.

the VHS with the car is the original version. Shag is OOP so the price on amazon rises like gas prices.
The people you were talking about that had Shag info was www.edsandra.com.
Shag was filmed in 1987 (we were down a few nights they shot the cruise down Ocean Blvd around the Pavillion scene) Which would have been the 1st full week of Aug. around 4th or 5th. Seems like we were leaving the next morning so my mom and grandparents wanted us all to go to bed at least a few hours. I have pictures of the car in front of the Gay Dolphin. I think it was more of a set up to see how the scene would play out. But then again it might have been they started rolling later that night. I do remember the call or extras to walk the strip in "vintage type' clothes. Shag came out late July 1989 (which was forever for a teenager who wanted to see the movie that was filmed in MB!)and was a limited run.
Hope I've helped a little
Cyndi
