I saw an interesting question pop up on my Facebook newsfeed from a Myrtle Beach website: which is better - sunrise or sunset? Thought I would open this up to us all on here!

While I love both, nothing beats watching the sun starting to peak over the ocean in the morning and creating beautiful colors in the sky. Then followed by a a blue ocean that sparkles like a perfect diamond

So, what's your favorite?!

Ash, good conversation starter. I guess I would have to vote for sunrises. I enjoy both. Nothing better than sipping a cool adult beverage and watching the sun set. Logically though I prefer new beginnings not endings, and a sunrise is always a new beginning to a new day.

I would prefer the sunrises but am happy with both. But a sunrise seems to make everything new and fresh. Untried or clean. A sunset is a perfect ending to each day where a sunrise is a new beginning

Great question! I didn't know there were so many sunrise lovers out there until I went to Myrtle Beach. I grab my cup of coffee and meander my way to the balcony to catch the sunrise only to find more folks than I expected already on the beach to do the same. While the nightlife crowd wins hands down, we sunrise folks are a different breed. I've never actively watched a sunset as it screams goodbye: an event I just can't tolerate.

My apartment faces west so all year I see the sun set so a sunrise is one of the attractions of Myrtle Beach for me. To get up early and watch the sun rise unobstructed over the ocean is awesome.

I guess if this was about a California beach, or western Florida Gulf coast beach, we might say sunset more.

But we are Myrtle Beachers! The sun setting behind a distant water tower or set of power lines really can't compare to a bright, new rising sun over the Atlantic!

We live in Canada on Lake Huron and have beautiful sunsets. The sun slowly slips down into the water and the colours are breathtaking. So to come to Myrtle Beach and see the beautiful sunrise is wonderful. One to start a beautiful day and one to end a perfect day. Nature's handiwork. What a gift.

For me, there is nothing like standing on the beach early in the morning listening to the waves crashing in front of you and watching the sunrise.
Took this yesterday down by the Garden City Pier
