Just thought I would share a few pics of our Tennessee snow. Now don't laugh. We are proud of our snow  Of course it was NOT forecasted and no one was prepared. We ended up getting around 2". The only problem is it is now turning to ice on the roads. I am sure you will hear on the news that the South is a mess and it is. I have never in my life saw so many vehicles sliding around. There are wrecks everywhere and schools were caught by surprise so school buses are stuck with children on them. We made it home safe and sound, but not without a few slides

These pics were taken from my office window.

Deanna I knew you would be happy with this snow day. Not so here. My worse nightmare. All these other days they are predicting snow and nothing really happens. Then today no prediction and we get three inches. Unfortunately we were in Knoxville for a dr.'s appt. Had to make the 40 plus mile home in less than ideal conditions. We made it OK but could not get up our steep road. Had to leave the car at the bottom of the road in a yard and hike up the hill. Very steep road and about three blocks to our house. We made it but needless to say I was not a happy camper. I am so tired of this winter!!

I do enjoy the snow, BUT these bad road conditions take all the fun out of it. I have sat here and worried all evening about getting to work in the morning. Glad you made it home ok. I had to smile when you said you had to walk up your hill. When I was growing up we always had to hike up a huge hill and then our house was on another hill. I was always dead last crying for my daddy to carry me. It never happened  Stay warm and safe.

We got a little more than an inch here in the heart of NC. Brody and Riley sure enjoyed it!

Deanna, do they have equipment in your state to remove the snow and ice, or salt and ash the roads?

Zach,

I LOVED your pics. They are so precious!

Cathy,
Yes we have road crews. The problem with this snow it was not forecasted so no one was prepared. The roads became impassable within an hours time and everyone was pretty much stuck. The roads were actually much better this morning after the crews had a chance to do their job.

Love the pictures. Nice to see others enjoying "MY" weather :)

If you want to blame anybody, just blame me. You share your great southern weather with me so I'm just sharing my northern weather down to you :D

We ended up with about an inch here. Our school let out at noon that Tuesday.

You mentioned that it caught the school by surprise. We got 21 inches on snow in 2004. They were originally calling for something like 2-3 inches. I don't remember what day of the week it was, but it was during the week. The roads were covered by 7am. The school said that they were just going to dismiss early instead of canceling since we wouldn't be getting much snow. By 11 when the school were dismissing we had about 5 inches. A lot of the buses that made it to the schools ended up getting stuck and such. Now when they call for any kind of frozen precip schools are delayed or canceled way before it starts.

Michael, did you get any snow? We've got rain, rain, rain!

The forecast this morning says:
A winter storm warning for inland Horry County, the Pee Dee and Border belt regions is in effect until Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

We have had a hard, bad winter. Snow snow snow. Frigid temps. The county water pipe burst and
We couldn't use water for 24 hours even after it was fixed. I have a miata and can't drive it in snow. We live on a hill snd it's staying slick and icy. I can't even go grocery shopping unless bob takes me in the truck which is parked at the bottom of the hill.
