We're doing some condo shopping for September 2014. I didn't find any recent posts on Bay Watch. Has anyone stayed there lately? Your thoughts and review on location and the hotel would be appreciated.

Are you planning to rent through an owner or the resort?

No preference on that really. Just looking for good rates. After finding the fine print on Condo-World, the additional fees for the Bay Watch condos were crazy! Base rate says it includes linens and cleaning, but I was shocked to see everything added on.

We had friends who stayed at Bay Watch last year and they really liked it. I went in the room a few times and from what I saw it looked really nice. It had a full kitchen, living room/dining room, 2 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms, and a gorgeous view. The resort also had good amenities. We stayed at Paradise Resort in a 2 bedroom and loved it.

Never heard anything bad about it.
Two things you might consider if comparing it to Ashworth where you've been staying last couple years.
Size.
Haven't researched and crunched numbers but driving by I'm thinking Bay Watch is two-three times the size of Ashworth.
Maybe more pools.
Location.
Positives: It's at dead end of that section of beach. Most traffic turns before they get to Bay Watch so there's little traffic at the resort.
...............Closer to Barefoot and Restaurant Row for dining.
Negatives: Traveling to south end of Strand. Not as convenient to RT 31. Either down 17 to RT 22 or back north to Main Street.
................If you liked the walking to Main Street in the evenings from Ashworth there won't be any of that from Bay Watch.

I had a friend that stayed there Sept. year before last. Her mom had cancer and was very weak during their stay. She passed two months later. Bay Watch was amazing to them during their stay. I went up one day to take some beach pics for them and it was obvious her mom was too weak to make it to the beach by herself. Several of the Bay Watch employees helped us get her to the beach for a couple of pics. They called one of those ATV's that the beach patrol use to help her down. They stayed with us the entire time. I thought that was an amazing act of kindness. Also, one day the manager (who could obviously tell she was dying) saw her in a wheelchair and asked if there was anything they could do to make her stay more enjoyable. She was always a big cut up so she asked for a bottle of wine, some grapes & cheese and some free tickets to a show. Never really expecting it there was a knock on the door the next day with show tickets along with a basket of goodies. You just don't hear of these acts of kindness very often.
They rented their condo through VRBO and didn't pay that much. Their unit was not five star, but it was clean and well maintained. The lobby, restaurant and pools looked great to me. I always walk that route during our summer vacations and Bay Watch is always packed so they must be doing something right.

Of all the places i've stayed in MB.. this was my favorite. In 2010 (not too recent) we rented a 3 bedroom condo, and it was great! I just love this place.

I got a quote for a condo at Baywatch for $960 for the last full week of June. It is a smaller unit, but a great price. We decided against it because we didn't want to be that far north, but we did get some great prices for there!

We've stayed there many times over the years. The latest was in August 2013. We have always had a great time. We rent through Elliott Realty on most occasions. They have a large selection of condos in all three towers, and the prices are usually cheaper than renting direct.
