My OCD planning is in overdrive. I am determined to try new restaurants during our September trip  What is your favorite breakfast eatery and why?

sea captains but you already know that.
We loved toffino's italian bakery when we were there this year. Good breakfast and a wonderful assortment of pastries and cookies to take home. It's located in the market common

Golden Griddle in North Myrtle Beach. Never had a bad meal there and so many memories. I eat there at least four times a trip. At the end of the week I look like this guy :ac17[1]:

Nothing besides krispey kremes for us, so I am of no help. On another note, I am so jealous that you get to go to the beach twice as much as me this year. Have fun.

Been a few years since we've been to the first three. They were good in the past.

Hoskin's. Also on Main Street in Ocean Drive. Small town diner, home cooking atmosphere. Closed on Sundays. Not unusual to see line on sidewalk out front for all meals. Not allowed to stand inside and wait. Breakfast is off menu only. No buffet.

Atlantis. Ocean Blvd just south of Sea Mountain. Pretty much in Towers On Grove shadow. I guess it's still open. Breakfast only. Closed rest of the day. Menu only.

Tarbaby's on Sea Mountain. When we drove all night to get there we would hit Cherry Grove just in time for breakfast and this was our first stop. Menu plus buffet. Buffet not as large as Shoney's but the food is good southern style fare. Thick salty ham, grits, sausage, biscuits/gravy....... Drinks served in small plastic cups you keep and take home. Perfect size at home for kids.

Next to Tarbaby's is The Shack. You've heard a couple of us go on and on about their dinners. Same thing for their breakfast. Small town diner. Most friendly staff you'll find.(Sweetie, Honey, Darlin'") Must of the diners are locals heading to work.

I'll second the Golden Griddle in North Myrtle Beach. I love their French toast.

I believe that in a previous topic for discussion I mentioned Mammy's Kitchen. I need to retract that statement, please. I went this past Tuesday morning and was extremely disappointed with it. Previous years have always been at least mediocre and at times just outstanding. My recent experience involved barely warm coffee, runny scrambled eggs, sausage that was possibly made the day before and dried out reheating to place back on the buffet, still-frozen potatoes and very bland fresh fruit. Including tip, it cost me $13 for just yours truly. I think I'll stick to cooking breakfast in the room.
