Upstate SC. It usually takes us 3 1/2 to 4 hours including a stop depending on traffic. And like Judy, we take our time, too. Seems the older we get, the less of a hurry we are in! :hysterical:

Beach Lady in Tennessee, I grew up in Greeneville TN. Also, I love to stop at Sparky's and get boiled peanuts.

Actually seccraig, Danny & I are both Gastonia natives!!! :nanner: All our family still lives there & we are home as often as we can be! We were actually there last night & will be back today for a family funeral.

Small world, huh?

Charleston, WV.....8 hours give or take a few minutes. Could do it in 7 and change if I pushed it but like couple others we don't get in a hurry. Unlike the others I refuse to blame it on age. I call it being on vacation. Vacations are for moving slow and relaxing. It starts with the drive..........
Hopefully the new stretch of RT 311 will get the trip down into the 7's while still taking it easy.....

Karen if you are not in a hurry, on the way back from Cherokee a few weeks ago, traffic was stopped ahead on 26, figured an accident. We got off at the approaching exit and went to the right, so south I guess, and got on a parallel road about 3 miles down the road, what a great drive and scenery, we took it all the way to Columbia, top down and enjoyed many great sites.

So any Gastonia people know friends of mine Bob & Gretchen Sholar, they have 2 daughters Kathy and Anne, Bob's NC plate reads BeachBob

Sardis, OH. Takes about 11 hours but seemed to go much faster with 311 open...but we made one goof. I think. Seemed a little confusing. At the interchange getting on 311.. But we figured it out...we stayed over night in East Rockingham. NC. As usual at the Holiday Inn Express. Newer and nice ...we always eat fast food (Sonic ). For supper...breakfast is always Huddle House...our Huddle House at home is not so good. But the one in Rockingham. Always is yummy...

Vandalia, OH - 12 hour drive. We stop after 8 hrs. and stay in Cornelius, NC. That gives us only about 4 hrs. the next day. Going back, we drive 7 hrs. to Beckley, WVA, then only have about 5 hrs. until we are home.

We travel from about 30 miles south of Charlotte, NC

During the off season 3-3.5 hours and in season (Saturday AM) 3.5-4 depending on traffic and if we stop and eat, etc.
