I clicked on a link Patrish provided, and I can't get through without a subscription. So, it looks like the Sun News is now charging for the on-line edition. That's a shame, because I like to check out the Sun News several times throughout the year. But I'm not willing to pay for a subscription to a newspaper where I don't live. Bummer.

Their so greedy they don't even realize how they make themselves look foolish.

In an editorial Tuesday, Carolyn made the comment how they were not posting the movie schedule for Carmike at Broadway and the Mall due to Carmike Corp cutting back on print ads. (I did not know that these were paid ads, I always thought papers did it as a service and yes one could pay for a larger type ad)

In the same editorial, she asks what readers would like to know about tourism-related events and activities and there is a survey they would like you to fill out.

Um how about the movie schedule :)

This survey Gary? Maybe we should all fill it out. Think it would do any good?

Ours paper has been doing that for a while now. On ours you can still pull up print preview and read the article that way though.

We had some earlier information here:

Additionally, The Sun News is owned by the McClatchy chain of newspapers. See this article below:

I posted this a while back, it still works:

I had the same problem. You are allowed to view just so many articles a month then they tell you you will need to register to continue reading articles.
Just click the "x" in the address bar as soon as you can see the entire article but before the page fully loads. The registration request does not show up until the page fully loads. I have been reading articles this way for a long time now. Might take a few times to get used to it but it does work. (At least until they find out about it)
