Ok. It seems as if there have been no new posts for a few days. We wre out of town lsst week, in Las Vegas for a trade show and a cousin reunion. We returnrd home on Flight 1111 (no joking!) on 111111. Now all the fun and excitement are over for a long time. The "beach" song that always makes me s
smile is of course Magaritaville. What's yours??

I have so many it's hard to just name one! :BandHead: So, ok, I'll narrow it down to just three....

I Love Beach Music by The Embers
Myrtle Beach Days by The Fantastic Shakers
Ocean Boulevard by The Band of Oz
These are true "Carolina Beach Music" classics! :nanner: :nanner: :nanner:

I know these are not hardcore Carolina beach tunes, but I play these three songs the most on the way to a beach. I guess it's sad that all involve booze. :tongue3: I always find comfort in these songs in the dead of winter and especially on the way down.
Magaritaville

Alan Jackson & Jimmy Buffett - It's 5 O'clock Somwhere

Garth Brooks, Two Pina Colada

Nice one - not sure why it slipped under my radar - great tune !

"Coast of Carolina" is a great example of Buffett's underrated wit.... "Ruby told the waitress that his chicken died in vain". I'm going to have to use that line.... though I rarely order chicken.

I had never heard that song before, sooo good. Reminded me of when I was young and we would vacation for about 3 weeks at a clip (my folks were teachers). I would always meet some fun people and when it was time to leave I would be so depressed going back to NY. Really captured the "feel" thanks for sharing~

I love music and there are so many things that remind me of the beach…since I have been going for 40 years. LOL We were at MB the year Margaritaville was on the charts. I love JB! So instead of the obvious here are a few of my odd ones.

These may not all be considered beach songs…but I am weird.
I Hope You Dance

I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean….

All Summer Long

While not really beach…but a summer song

It's not really a "beach" song, but his music is associated with the beach. "No Woman No Cry" from Bob Marley and "Surfer Girl" from the Beach Boys.

I have two songs I always seem to sing to myself when I'm sitting on the beach. (Neither of which are actual "beach" songs"

Seagull by Bad Company and Beautiful World by Colin Hay. That song starts like this:
My, my, my it's a beautiful world.
I like swimming in the sea.
I like to go on beyond the white breakers,
where a man can still be free.
Or a woman if you are one.
I like swimming in the sea.

By far it's "Smoke From A Distant Fire" by the Sanford Townsend Band - a group I wish had put out more songs:
