My husband and I will be in Surfside working/renovating our condo over the Thanksgiving holiday. But we didn't want the day to go by without a turkey dinner. Can anyone recommend a place that serves a decent dinner? Since we'll be working, we won't have a lot of time to get all dressed up, so something relatively informal, but good. Thanks!

All Myrtle Beach area restaurants are casual with the exception of about 4.

Most restaurants will be open Thanksgiving Day, but I don't know if they will all be serving traditional Thanksgiving dinners. The Sun News usually publishes a list each year each year, and when I see it, I'll post it on the board.

In the meantime, here are some suggestions and hopefully others will add to this:

California Dreaming Restaurant and Bar (Surfside)

Conch Cafe (Garden City)

Ryan's (they will have Thanksgiving on their buffet)
8671 HIGHWAY 17 BYPASS
SURFSIDE BEACH, SC 29575

Texas Roadhouse (Garden City)

Salt Water Creek Cafe (Murrells Inlet)

Another option is to pickup pre-made fixing's at one of the better grocery stores.... Spent Thanksgiving at the beach a few years back, and picked up a Turkey Breast, stuffing, etc at Lowes Grocery in the Northern part of Myrtle Beach (versus North Myrtle Beach). This way we didn't have the mess of cooking, but still had leftovers ! :nanner:

Lowes may be a bit far for you (recall it's up around 80th North, Myrtle Beach, but I'm sure others will chime in with above-average grocers in your area.

GREAT idea, Kirk! :beerchug:

There's a Lowes Grocery very close to Surfside. I shop there often. It's across the street from Stick Golf Course, just behind Kohls and sort of across the street from the new Target.

Kroger (Garden City) also does complete Thanksgiving dinners :

...as does Piggly Wiggly (Market Common and Murrells Inlet.) Not sure which location is closer to Surfside, but the website/location page offers google maps.
