Dirty Don's Oyster Bar & Grill has opened a new location on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, and Wally and I were there on Thursday, May 26, with our friends Gail and Gary.

Gail ordered the Coconut Shrimp, and said they had a good flavor!

Gary enjoyed oysters and said he would get them again. The oysters looked really good and the plate, and since it's Dirty Don's specialty, we were happy to hear they were very tasty.

Wally enjoyed the grouper sandwich (8.95) and a Flat Tire Beer (2.50 happy hour price.) The grouper was a good size and very flavorful.

I chose the Seafood Nachos (7.75) and the house Pinot Grigio (3.50 happy hour price.)T he Seafood Nachos were okay. The shrimp were small, clear, and mostly tasteless. The cheese was very salty, and the deep orange color was a bit alarming. But as I said, it was okay, and next time I'll just order something different.

I would have no problem going back there again. We had a very good waiter who went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of. We sat outside where the atmosphere of the Boardwalk is terrific. We told each other how lucky we are to live here, to enjoy eating out with good friends, and to be healthy and happy.

We didn't stop and eat there but seeing as my name is Don, I just had to have my picture taken there during our trip last September. :)

Thanks for the trip report Patrish. Enjoyed the pics. Looks like I am going to have to take a trip to the Boardwalk. Just out of curiosity how far is the Boardwalk from Sea Captains House? I was thinking we may try to add that to our agenda after our girls first day at the beach breakfast.

Sea Captain's House is located at 30th Ave. N. Dirty Don's is on the boardwalk, around 9th ave N., so 21 city blocks north.

This area has really changed (for the better) since the arrival of the Boardwalk and SkyWheel!

We loved Dirty Don's on 21st Ave. This year we are going to the Boardwalk location so I can see the ocean while eating my oysters.

You will love it, Jeff! The "downtown" area has been cleaned up, thanks to the Boardwalk, SkyWheel, and a few new restaurants. I always look forward to your restaurant reviews, since I consider you an expert in that area.
