This is so far the best place my husband and I have ate. My husband is a steak lover and since we have gone there will not eat steak anywhere else. Their baby back ribs are to die for. They fall off the bone. And their sweet potatoes are awesome. The service there is excellent. I highly recommend this place. Their apple desert is also wonderful. When I Myrtle Beach please try this place out, you will not be sorry. :nanner:

Well since I manage the Longhorn in Cookeville, Tn, I guess I should respond here. Patrish you are right. The Longhorn in Myrtle Beach is near Coastal Grand Mall. The average price for a steak is around $18. I suggest the Flo's Filet with a side of asparagus. If you try it and don't love everything, PM me. I want to know.

Message board members may not have to wait for your trip to myrtle beach to dine at Longhorn as they are a chain with many locations.

I had only a salad and half sandwich but it was very good and the new place near me looks packed for lunch and dinner most every time I pass by.

Jeff, I thought you were at Cheddars, what did I miss? WE have a Longhorn and I love it. I even love the Renegade Sirloin, very tender if you are looking for a less expensive, tasty cut. They have a multi-peppered steak salad at ours, too, that is to die for. Although, I've cut my red meat consumption to about nil, I'd kill for one right now! We can eat there with family/3 for less than $50. They have asparagus, like Jeff said, which I like sometimes instead of potato and they also have a baked sweet tater...yumalicious.

Good question! I am sure Jeff will know the answer. Can Red Lobster gift cards be used at Longhorns? We have a Red Lobster and Olive Garden here in Sevier County but no Longhorns. I use my reward points on my credit card for Red Lobster gift cards. Since it is a business card I usually wind up with a few cards each month.

We can accept Darden gift cards, but they must say Darden gift card. If it is Red Lobster or OG only then we can't. It is the same way with Longhorn Gift Cards. Darden sells the Darden gift cards to give folks more options, plus there are usually one of the concepts close by.

Judy there will be a Longhorn coming your way by the first of next year. It will be located very close to the Olive Garden. Then we are going to build in Knoxville at Turkey Creek. That will be my store. I am hoping it will open sometime in 2009.

It was really nice to meet you too. And we should be seeing more of each other which is really nice. As I said Longhorn's prices are very reasonable. My husband and I can have a really nice dinner for under $50. We are going there again for our 10th Anniversary this month. Which is March 21st. We discovered it on our 8th Anniversary and have been a regular there ever since. My mouth is already watering thinking of their baby back ribs.. :nanner:

Jeff,
Aren't the steaks at Longhorn cut on site? Not packaged and shipped in.

My first experience with Longhorn was in St. Augustine, Florida. I got a chopped sirloin steak (kind of like a huge hamburger without a bun, but much better) and I swear it was the best meat I have ever had!

We've also had good experiences at any steak places with some sort of "Texas" theme (Lone Star, etc.). Wonderful, wonderful meat, and done just right no matter how you order it.

Jeff, congratulations on your new job and good luck with your upcoming move!

Alan, We hand cut our Ribeyes and New York Strips. The rest of our steaks are shipped to us twice a week fresh. Our steaks are never frozen. We don't add any marinade or tenderizers. We season them while they are cooking to really bring out the flavor of the beef. We serve only the finest quality USDA Choice beef.
