Dinner time was upon us. We opted to try someplace new to us, that Don saw recommended on the Compass Cove web site not too long ago. It’s called Damon’s, and it very close to Compass Cove, on Ocean Blvd. After climbing all the steps to get up there, we were seated almost immediately. I had no idea how big this place was. And quite popular considering how busy they were on a Tuesday night. We didn't get a table by the window, but we could still see the ocean from where we were seated. We ordered half an onion loaf for appetizer, and ribs with salad for dinner. The HALF onion loaf was more than enough for the 2 of us. It was stacked high and looked like a Borg cube! (Only Star Trek fans will know what that is…..) Then the salads arrived. I have never had a salad so delicious served to me in a restaurant before! This salad had diced tomatoes, chopped eggs, diced ham and bacon, and slivered almonds on top! It was a meal in itself. Then the ribs arrived. Half a rack looked like a whole rack to me….. The meat fell off the bones. The barbecue sauce was delicious. NO complaints. We will definitely return here again!

We have a Damons in the town just south of us, and used to have one in Morgantown. I always thought their food was good, and I'll bet that the view/ location of the one on South Ocean Blvd is great. Next time you go, order the Santa Fe Rolls as an appetizer.

Don, so glad you and Barb had such a great meal at Damon's, and thanks for the review.

Damon's has been off and on for us....sometimes fantastic and sometimes hardly passable. After reading your review, I guess it's time to put it on our list again.

We haven't ate at Damon's while in MB for at least the last 10-12 years. It was great the first time that we ever visited. The second and third time, the food wasn't to good form what I remember. I say we need to give it another try next time we are in town.

We eat at Damons on Ocean Blvd every year. It's one of our favorite places to eat. Love it!! I always get their liver and onions.

Love Damons! We usually go at lunch time when the crowds are are bit smaller, and are seated along the back window overlooking the beach. We get the "Grill Meat and 3" off the menu. Not sure we have ever had a bad meal there.

Dwight, I have heard of this free dinner offer for years, but we have never been on our birthdays. Good to hear that they still make that offer.

As to food and service, Damon's has been "off and on" for us. When we go, we like to sit on the wide back porch overlooking the ocean, weather permitting.

That wide backporch is great for viewing the Ocean and eating out there is a treat.
we had our sons wedding reception there in July and everyone raved at the meal and
the service they gave...the menu has something for everyone.....and the birthday meal
is a great thing to still do...
