I had read that Golden Griddle Family Restaurant (North Myrtle) had real maple syrup. Never made it there during our last trip though, so I can't say for sure.

Yes, I have heard that Golden Griddle serves real maple syrup.

This is a toughie because a restaurant will not usually differentiate between "real maple syrup" and "imitation maple syrup" on their menu. If this is important to you, you should choose a couple restaurants near where you're staying, then call and ask this question.

Nope, not any more!! They used to but now they serve "100% Natural Syrup." Actually it is 55% maple syrup and 45% cane syrup. It's a shame :dontknow:

Just buy a little "nip" from the liquor store, empty it and fill with your favorite 100% syrup.....then bring to your favorite restaurant :nanner:

Thanks Emmy, I didn't know they changed their syrup :???: !
Luckily, my senior black belt instructor has a huge sugar bush, so I get my syrup here at home for free :wav: ! Odd thing is, his kids prefer Mrs. Butterworth's over the real stuff :dontknow:

Me too!!! I love Mrs. Butterworth's. My grandmother used to make me pancakes every Saturday morning and my pancakes usually floated in Mrs. Butterworth's. Guess some things you never out grow.

Ugh, once you switch to the real stuff it is hard to go back to high fructose corn syrup! But the real stuff is much more expensive so most restaurants don't serve it. It has to be a high quality place.

I've been to the Pennsylvania Maple Festival in Meyersdale, PA several times back in mid thru late 1970s. Talk about REAL syrup, etc!

This year's event just ended last weekend - I wish I could have been there...

We sure have lots of real maple syrup around here. Numerous maple syrup festivals around the province. Can't beat the real thing!

Mike I'm from Somerset county and yes the Maple festival is a favorite. Just tried Spotza last year. Since being here in MB this year I missed the festival to. The only time I ever have Real maple syrup is at the Lion's Pancake and Sausage breakfast. But most of the time I prefer sugar free syrup.
