If you could pick one place to have breakfast, where would you go? There are so many pancake houses etc advertised so it's hard to pick! We want to go out to breakfast once but can't decide. Mammy's has always been on our list. Thoughts?

We hardly ever go out for breakfast, so when we do it's a real treat, and I always choose the Sea Captain's Buffet. (This is in spite of Wally pointing out that there's a McDonalds nearby where we could get an Egg McMuffin.) The Sea Captain's buffet is available every day from 6 AM - 10:30 AM. Cost is $10.00 adults....not sure about children. This isn't like the buffets that are so popular here. It's more stylish and the food better. Of course you can order breakfast off the regular breakfast menu, too.

I agree with Patrish Sea Captains is a great place for breakfast and we always have a girls trip there while on vacation. Not to mention that it has one of the best places for pics that I know. Breakfast is my favorite meal so I am very picky. I would rather have a good Hardee's biscuit any day than to eat bad breakfast food. Last fall while we were in MB we tried Croissants Bistro & Bakery and LOVED it. It will now be on our list of must places to visit on vacation. Here is my review viewtopic.php?f=50&t=14645.

I love this topic because I am always excited to try new breakfast places.

Looks like sea captains might be the ticket! We like to go there at least once and have never done breakfast there so that might be fun.

I am soooo hungry to MB food!

We've never been to the breakfast buffet. I searched for a menu of it to get an idea why it's different from the standard run of the mill one, but couldn't find anything. Can anyone post some info regarding it?

Biscuits/Gravy
Bacon
Sausage Links
Omelet Station (the same very nice chef has been there for years)
Corn beef hash
Grits
Pancakes
French Toast
Oatmeal
Fruit
Cereal

You guys can chime in with anything I have forgot. I promise to remember to take pics this year. Somehow I always forget

The thing I always liked about the Sea Captain's Breakfast Buffet was it was not huge. The quality seemed to be better and not like some typical buffet where the food sits there all morning. I don't know, it seems more fresh to me.

That's kinda what I was interested in. Quality. Different than a typical buffet. Not into much of the stuff served on the standard buffets.

So do they have biscuits and gravy to? Because I always want to get french toast, pancakes waffles and biscuits and gravy when I go for breakfast so I might have to try it out. So is it a lot better then the other breakfast buffets? Last year we went to Golden Coral

Yes...biscuits and gravy!

http://www.seacaptains.com/menus/breakfast/

I think what makes it different - along with what everyone has already mentioned - is the ambiance. It's the aura of being in a Southern environment with an ocean view that makes YOU feel special.
