I was wondering if there is any place to get good donuts? I don't want to go to Krispy Cream, I've never liked them and Dunkin Donuts are in Wing's stores and don't have much choice. So I would like to find a mom and pop donut place that have the best donuts. If anyone knows of one let me know please, and thank you.

If your not doing Krispy Kream, Donut Man as suggested is the place.

As for Dunkin Dounts, I'll never get donuts there again, they don;t bake them
on site any longer, they are shipped in and at almost $10 a dozen I expect fresh and that is not what you get.

Yes I dislike kk because the first time I ever had kk I asked for a plain glazed donut and I got a donut with chocolate frosting and then glaze over the top of that and when you don't like chocolate and take a bite and taste chocolate it ruins the donut. I've had them since but I just don't think they are that good.

I was wondering about Dunkin Donuts if they baked them there, they used to be good but all the stores in Myrtle Beach are inside Wings or something. I was wondering I think I read somewhere that Donut Man used to be a Dunkin Donuts but he went off on his own, is that true?

That is so true. KK here in Mississauga, they make all the donuts for the Walmarts and gas stations that sell them. If you go in at the right time in the evening, they are making them fresh and they'll give you a free donut right off the cooling rack. These are only about 3 minutes old, still very warm and they melt in your mouth.

Wish I would have saw this thread before our trip. I always grab donuts at least one morning during the week. Krispy Kreme is close enough to walk, so that's where I went both trips, but being the heat coming on for our last day, I chose to drive a couple blocks instead of walk. Would have rather driven elsewhere.

I don't care if they are hot or cold, I expect pudding in the middle of pudding filled donuts. I got 8 pudding filled and 4 others and not one of the pudding filled had any pudding!

We have a Donut Connection franchise locally. I thought they were made constantly through the day because they are always fresh no matter when I stop. I picked up a dozen at 3 pm after work to have the next morning after about 4 hours into our travel instead of stopping somewhere. I asked when they were made and she said they are made overnight every night. I put them on the counter at 4 pm, packed them up in the back of the car at 4 am, and stopped at a picnic table at 9 am and they were just as fresh as if they were just made.
