Anyone been there recently? Brunch, early bird or regular dinner? Have party of 11 with small children ... would this be a good place for us?

It's a pricey restaurant, but you can see some beautiful sunsets. Here's their menu:

With 11 children, I would seriously consider going somewhere else. The prices are definitely based on the views this restaurant has to offer and I'm not sure how much children would appreciate the sunsets.

They have a very good early bird special. I believe it is from 4-5:30. The parking is a little tight.
I don't think I would bring a big crowd here especially children.

My first impression of Gulf Stream Café is the open atmosphere was amazing. I loved all the windows that gave practically every table a view of the Inlet. Atmosphere can make all the difference when experiencing a great meal

We were seated promptly at our reservation time and our service was very good. We started with bread which was warm and fresh. It went very quickly.

Doug and I shared a shrimp cocktail

Doug ordered some type of fried fish (sorry I can’t remember exactly what it was). He said it was very good.

I ordered the fried shrimp and it was amazing.

My mom ordered a filet med-well and it came out burnt.

I know a filet is hard to prepare at med-well and they did ask if they could butter fly it, which was fine, however it was charred so we sent it back. The staff was great about it and replaced it promptly. The second steak (which I did not get a pic of) was amazing. Very flavorful and tender. The second steak certainly made up for the first.

We all enjoyed our experience at Gulf Stream. The laid back view of the marsh was so relaxing. Almost as if time were standing still if that makes sense. The food was very good. We enjoyed riding through Garden City which we had never done before. The only negative about the entire experience was the parking at the restaurant was not good. I am not sure how they could fix that, but it was a hassle.

At some point in time we will return to Gulf Stream Café.

Loved the photos! It all looks delicious....and I understand about time stading still. I feel that way a lot when I'm taking photos. Too bad it doesn't work as well on the body as it does on the brain. LOL! Thanks for the review and photos!

We haven’t been for several years but the view is incredible.

Maybe it is because I am hungry & the cocktail shrimp look scrumptious, ... but if 5 is what they serve; I'm warning patrons now, anyone sitting close to me will have some ( or all) missing from their plate.

Funny. I actually think a few were gone before I remembered to take the pic.
