Another dinner date with Vicki and Kay, as well as an opportunity to meet Anne & Marvin from Myrtle Manor :nanner: , but I will stick to the review of Simply Southern. I guess this was the old Filling Station located at 1913 Mr. Joe White Avenue.

This is a buffet - for dinner the price is $10.20 for adults. If you are 55+ you get FREE drinks! There are perks to being "older" :nanner:

This buffet had just about everything - fried chicken, 2 types of pulled pork and a wide selection of sides. Everything we tried was very good. I even tried collards for the first time ever and they were really good. The sweet potato souffle was awesome as was their cornbread. We were really happy with this place and will for sure visit again.

Those of you who know who Isaac is, will be happy to know he works there, and we were blessed to see him perform "Go Tell It on the Mountain" before we left.

Thanks for the write-up, Jan. This place looks good and the price is right. Looks like it must be be right downtown.

Lunch here on Tuesday. It's a nice inexpensive meal but for this Marylander the sweet potato casserole is almost too sweet for dessert (but if you lift off the candy crust you're good to go). They have both vinegar based pulled pork and plain pulled pork. There are lots of sauces at the end of the line.

Fried chicken was moist but wings were hard to find. Corn bead was nice and moist and not too sweet. Tuesday is local discount day; Wednesday is Senior's discount day.

Closed on Sunday and Monday. And we just beat a bus load of traveling Seniors through the line....glad they could travel and glad they'll help keep Simply Southern open.
