My sister recommended this place, which is located at 504 16th Ave North. Their Blue Plate special is $9.25 and includes your drink and cornbread. You have a choice of 1 meat and 3 veggies/sides.

Mike and I both had fish. My sides included mac/cheese, cabbage and yams. Mike had mashed potatoes, green beans and mac/cheese. While we waited, I watched the cook (Big Mike I think) hand bread the fish fillets. When our plates came out, we were both shocked - they were piled high with sides and our 2 large fish fillets were placed on top. This by far has been the best find in all the years we have been coming to MB. The food was good, down home cooking and generous portions. We walked out of there spending $20.44 plus tip.

It does not look like much on the inside or outside for that matter, but don't let that discourage you from giving it a try. We will definitely add Big Mike's to our favorites list!

We met Vicki and Kay there and next to the great food and good company, the best part of the evening was watching Kay visit with a fellow Veteran from the Korean conflict who was also having dinner there. Thanks to both of you for that special moment and for your service!

Big Mike is usually at the many festivals and events that go on all summer long in Myrtle Beach. After the first time we found him, we searched him out on subsequent visits to these festivals. His food is really good! (You'll know him right way. He lives up to his name!)
