We had both breakfast and lunch here during our recent trip. This place was the biggest bang for your buck and some of the BEST southern home cooking. The eatery is bright and sunny and decorated in a total beach/nautical theme. Most of the licenses plates were SC so this is a real locals place though they made us feel very welcome. It also was packed for both meals!

Breakfast was eggs, grits, country ham etc. Very hot and fresh!

We returned again later in the week for their lunch special which was a meat (choice of fish, chicken, pork, beef etc.) 3 sides (mac/cheese, greens, rice etc.) bread (biscuit, corn bread) and sweet tea for around $7.50. I know this may sound silly but it was some of the best food we had this trip for the price and the atmosphere. Really great!

Emmy, we love The Shack! They have great fried chicken and I love the cabbage casserole. It truly is a good meal at a great price.

Good home style cooking. For $7.98 you get a meat choice three sides. Dave had hamburger steak, Mac and cheese, mashed potato and corn. I had fried chicken, Mac and cheese, corn and a sweet potato. It is good home style cooking and you can't beat the price. Great fried chicken.

Christine, where is the Shack located? I don't remember hearing about this restaurant before.

The Shack is on Sea Mountain Highway in Cherry Grove.

We went here for dinner last night. Hushpuppies were very good. My wife wanted shrimp but said she wasn't that hungry the waitress said how about a kid's portion? I ordered the small tidewater combination with flounder oysters and scallops. The combo comes with choice of baked potato or fries and cole slaw. I got the regular size and it was plenty with the hushpuppies. The funny thing is they brought me shrimp instead of oysters and it didn't even matter. Everything was very good. Would definately go back again.
