We had heard a lot about Hoskins and have seen the line of people waiting to get inside several times, so it was time to give it a try. There was no line yet, and we were seated as soon as we walked in the door. Mike ordered one of the specials - meat loaf, scalloped potatoes, butter beans and broccoli/cheese casserole - $6.95. I just had a burger and fries - $6.50 and we each had iced tea. Everything was really good and our waitress took good care of us. For $17.62 plus tip for dinner - not a bad deal at all!

I did grab a menu for future reference. They offer a wide variety of sandwiches, seafood platters, pork, beef and chicken options. Seafood platters range in price from $13.95 for a small flounder filet basket to $20.95 for a large sea scallop platter. Steaks from chopped sirloin at $10.95 to a 7oz filet at $22.95. As for chicken, I saw some good looking fried chicken pass by our table - 3 pcs for $10.95.

We might have to check them out for breakfast as well!
