Yes. I know. It's a drag. But my son and I are deathly allergic to seafood. Does anyone know of any buffet style places that have NO seafood? Actually, it doesnt even have to be a buffet. We have a list of pizza & burger type joints, but we're hoping to find something other than that. I know it won't be easy lol Any tips?

This is a tough call... particularly in coastal SC where shrimp, crabs, etc are considered local produce. You can't even eat in a restaurant where seafood is prepared ? Trying to think of some BBQ places, but most offer fried catfish/shrimp/etc.

Perhaps Little Pigs on 6102 Frontage Rd, Myrtle Beach (843) 692-9774. (though it's not a formal restaurant.... great BBQ !)

What types/categories of restaurants have you found in other areas ? (might spark some ideas)

Thanks. Well in OCMD we stick to pizza & subs and Dough Rollers. It's hit & miss with some places.
I can do chinese places even tho they sell seafood. I can eat fish. Just not shellfish. If the place smells like seafood I cant be in it.
But say a Ruby Tuesdays has a little bit of everything - I can do. Its the heavy "known for" seafood places I cant go in.
Long as I dont smell it, my food isnt cooked in the same oil or batter, - Im good.
Im an isolated freak eh? lol Doesnt have to be formal. Im always on the hunt for good BBQ.
even to go places are ok.

You said you were staying near Cherry Grove I believe. Two great places to eat that don't smell like seafood; at least I don't remember them smelling bad...lol are

Basil's pizza and subs https://www.facebook.com/BasilsPizza and

Hamburger Heaven http://www.myrtlebeachscrestaurants.com ... Grove.html

Small mom and pop type places with really good food (Basil's calzones are the BEST and I live in NY) and fun laid back atmosphere.

If you get anything fried at either place (maybe french fries) you just want to double check they don't fry any seafood in the same oil, but I bet you already knew that

I realize you are asking about All You Can Eat buffets, but I've added other choices. The only buffet I can remember thinking would be a good restaurant for someone who doesn't like seafood would be Captain George (on the high price end) and Ryan's on the low price end. But if you can't be around the smell of seafood, I really can't think of any.

Check out the reviews in the Italian Section:

If a restaurant serve other meals in addition to seafood:

There are several steak houses (at the bottom of this list) where no fish is sold. The rest do serve seafood, but they don't specialize in it.

we brought our son & daughter in law with us last oct. for their first visit, and she is highly allergic to seafood also. I discussed this with Kevin, my buddy at Dirty Dicks. He said she could go anyplace, but if they were mostly a seafood place, have her order grilled chicken. He said by ordering it grilled it would prevent it being in contact with seafood, as they clean the grills between different types of meats and seafoods.

For subs you might try Jersey Mike's in Windy Hill on RT 17. Huge sandwiches.

Wild Wing Cafe at Barefoot Landing should be safe from seafood.

Margaritaville at Broadway would be fun with little danger of seafood.

Alan, I forgot about Jersey Mike's. Thanks! They have good subs, and several locations up and down the beach. Just google them.

Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville is a good suggestion, too! How about Jimmy Buffett's LandShark downtown at the SkyWheel?

We go to Sticky Fingers (the one located near Coastal Grand Mall in Myrtle Beach) about 4 to 6 times a year, and 2 or 3 of those times are for lunch. They are consistently good. We have also purchased their sauces, which we like a lot.

Oh yes, patrish... sticky fingers is a must do at myrtle beach. It has a top spot on our must do list. We love going there for lunch, and usually there are coupons available. the food is great, and so is the staff. We go there about 3 times a year..(each time we come to myrtle beach. It is so hard to choose between the sauces.. you just have to try them all.

OK...I'm getting off-topic here, but Lou, have you signed up for their Birthday calendar (on the Sticky Fingers website.) You get a free half-slab of ribs with the purchase of anything else on the menu up to $13.95. If you only visit Sticky Fingers when you're here, but sure you tell them your birthday is during that time!
