Bryan wanted to go here for Father's Day and the food was fantastic! The cost has gone up, though! $30 for adults! And the oys were each $2.49, een Tyelr who is only 1! He hardly ate ANYTHING and the waitress was so kind to take his charge off. Brett was actually adventurous and tried fried popcorn shrimp, flounder and scallops! I was shocked! He loved it, especialy the shrimp!

That was our very big spurge, at $81 including tip, but it was worth the $. We had to keep things tight the rest of the week, though. (Which turned out for the better since Tyler wasn't too fond of being couped up at the restaurants. )

Yes we were surprised to see the cost go up as the beverages are not
included in that $30.00 either, but as you said always a great meal there
above average for the buffet places..... :cheerleader:

Yes, the drinks were extra so I just had water. The food was extremely good, though. We drive by all of the buffets that are considera;y less $ but if the food isn't good it's $ wasted.

Forgot to add in my report that the hush puppies were AMAZING, too! That's one of the few things Tyler ate a lot of!

I can't find my receipt anywhere, but I recall it costing us $28 on June 16th.

We actually weren't very thrilled about it. I was looking for shrimp other than fried shrimp that you get everywhere. Though they did have delicious broiled shrimp that I ate a ton of, the whole atmosphere was too "Golden Corral" type atmosphere for us. I didn't know what to expect, and this isn't the type of buffet we were looking for I guess.

It certainly wasn't bad, the food was delicious (emphasize the delicious because everything I ate certainly was, which was mostly the broiled shrimp, but has some of this and that as well), the waitress kept our glasses full, as busy and packed as it was, we pretty much walked right in and they took us to our table quickly, and the variety was huge. I just don't know why with a proclaimed "170 item buffet" or whatever it is we didn't expect the atmosphere. Very busy at the buffet. Not long waits to get food on the plate, just lot of dodging around people everywhere from buffet to buffet or buffet back to your table. As I said, very "Golden Corral" like.

We are glad we went here, because we would always wonder, but I doubt we would do it again. Just not the atmosphere we are looking for, not because of food. I don't know if all buffets are like this nowadays or not. I am interested in a more intimate smaller buffet.

Perhaps it wasn't $28, but I thought it was. They asked us if we had a coupon, which I had left in the hotel room so, no. I think the coupon was only good for $2 off, so maybe they gave us the coupon off anyways. I'm trying to tally up the cost in my head, but I don't know how much drinks were. My youngest daughter at 7 yr old has a recent fascination of $100 and the bill was laid on the table between her and Wifey. Boy did her eyes go huge when she saw the $105 bill, LOL. That was 2 adults, 2 kids at half price and 3 drinks since my youngest drinks only water.

Oh yeah, the hush puppies they give you at the table when you seat were freakin awesome.

We went on Father's Day and it was$29.95 for the adult buffet. They may have raised the price because of the holiday or because it was a Sunday at dinner time... :dontknow: They do that here in NJ so who knows? We go once each year as a splurge and budget for it.

Hmmm... I wonder how this place stacks up to Capt. George's. If I remember correctly, Capt. George's was closer to $40 per person last year.

I think our tab was over $200 for 5 people, but that was with 4 cocktails.

Seems that Capt. George's is a favorite here on the board, but we ate there once and weren't that impressed. We like Original Benjamins better, especially with our grandkids.

Ron, Bryan and I feel the same way about Captain Goerge's. We just aren't impressed and there is almost NOTHING there Brett will eat. We LOVE Original Benjamin's though!

Georges is just over $30 per person and is good, I recomend Origianal Benjamins not just for the food but for the looks, the place is amazing, it is a nautical museum inside and out.

Ate here last night since it was the last night that our friends were here with us and it is their favorite place. I enjoyed the food but it was not worth the price to me. The stuffed shrimp and coconut shrimp were both good as was the teriyaki tuna. Crab legs were good but probably no different than anywhere else. We were full when we left but thought we could have got a better meal for less money and had higher quality food elsewhere.

My Original Benjamin's Review:

We go here once during vacation each year. It’s my favorite buffet and once again it didn’t disappoint. One thing I did learn this year was they have this beautiful deck out back on the Intracoastal Waterway. We were headed to the children’s area downstairs and saw it through the back doors. There are a bunch of rocking chairs out there and even a corn hole game. So pretty. For 6 adults and a 15 month old (with 5 waters and 2 sodas) the bill was $204 before tip.
