We had dinner at Capt. Dave's the first night we were down and I was very pleased with our meal. The food was prepared perfectly and the portion sizes were very nice. Service was also excellent and our waitress was as pleasant as ever and very attentive to anyone's needs. Definitely recommend this restaurant in Murrell's Inlet as one of my favorite dining experiences.

I agree with everything you said. We go there at least once a year, and the food and service is always excellent. Thanks for your review!

It looks like Captain Dave's Dockside closed this past Sunday.

The family leased the property to JPA Management Group, owners of the J Peters Bar & Grill chain. The restaurant will open as Catfish Johnny’s in early June. According to the release, all Dockside employees will be retained for the new restaurant.

This popped up into my facebook feed last night and I had a similar response. Catfish Johnnys? It just seems out of place on name alone to me.

Sounds more like a river or lake town name. I like catfish but just don't think of palm trees and ocean when I hear that word.
