We are going to Myrtle Beach in a few weeks, it will be my second time, but it was years ago that I was there. What is the best things to do/ best places to eat? Mind you my boyfriend is not big on the beach so I have to find fun stuff to do so he will like it enough to want to go back =)

Wow, that's a tough question. What kinds of things do you and your boyfriend enjoy?

Without knowing your interests, I'd say to be sure to check out Broadway at the Beach, play miniature golf at one of the many courses, spend some time on the new boardwalk and check out the Skywheel and the Gay Dolphin, and then grab a beer and a hotdog at the Oceanfront grill.

If you feel adventurous, head south to Murrel's Inlet to check out the Marshwalk with all the bars and restaurants. Or, head north to Calabash, NC (just over the state line) for plenty of seafood restaurants and fun shopping in a little town.

There are three waterparks with plenty of slides and lazy rivers on the Grand Strand, and a couple of Amusement Parks. Plenty of fun shows to see (Medieval Times, Carolina Opry, Alabama Theater). Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle is another great place for dining and shopping. There's also a professional baseball team in town called the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, and that's a lot of fun. Nascar Speedpark has nearly a dozen go-cart tracks.

I guess the best advice of all would be to thoroughly check out this website. Patrish has tons of information on the main page, and you could spend hours pouring through the forums here for great advice.

Enjoy the beach!

Scott

Thanks for the info! My boyfriend LOVES fishing, but has never been deep sea fishing (He doesn't get out of ol' WV too often haha) I thought about chartering a boat so he could do that... Do you know of any places where you can do that?

I've never been deep sea fishing, but there are many companies on the Grand Strand who specialize in charters. Here are a few links:

Captain Dicks offers 1/2 day for $44 and full day for $75 (includes all bait and tackle).

Voyager offers a 12 hour Gulf Stream fishing trip for $160 (includes all bait and tackle).

And there's always Pier Fishing, where you can rent the tackle at one of the piers and buy your bait there. Patrish has some good info here:

I would also suggest something like the "Sea Screamer". The view from out in the ocean is beautiful, it's fun and adventurous, you see dolphins etc. Great time.
