Hey! I'm Meghan and I'll be moving to Myrtle Beach in June. I've been visiting every summer since I was a baby but now that I'm moving here I'd like to know more about the local spots that aren't as popular as the main tourist attractions.
I'm hoping to find some laid back bars, places which frequently have live music, yoga clubs or groups, dog parks/ dog friendly places, and good ways to meet people (mid 20's-early 30's). I'm pretty outgoing but I'll be moving here knowing absolutely no one so I want to make friends quick!
Also if anyone has worked with a realtor that they really liked that would be awesome!

Welcome to our message board, Meghan. and congratulations on your move!

Have you chosen the area where you'll be living? I'm asking because "Myrtle Beach" may not mean you'll be living in the City of Myrtle Beach. And even if it does, you will probably want suggestions for activities in the vicinity of your home.

Dog parks and pet-friendly restaurants are listed at the bottom of this page:

Since you've been coming here regularly, you probably know about the nightlife at Broadway at the Beach:

Another spot that has become very popular for the younger crowd in the last few years is The Market Common:

There is also a popular Yoga spot in The Market Common:

However, yoga is popular here, so that's something you might want to research locations and look up reviews.

As far as local spots that aren't as popular as the main tourist attractions, you can find pockets of them in, for instance, Pawleys Island, Murrells Inlet, Surfside, Garden City and the northern end of Myrtle Beach.

Most Realtors specialize in the various areas of the beach. In other words, someone who sells in the south end is not going to be as familiar with the north end. If you choose one of the larger real estate companies, you will not have a problem locating someone to work with you in your desired area.

Hope this helps, and hopefully others will have more suggestions for you.

I do believe that Patrish's husband, Wally, is a realtor. Perhaps Patrish doesn't want to violate her own policy about advertising here on the message board, but I think that it would be appropriate to mention him since MeghanAshley asked specifically about working with a realtor that they really like. I presume that Patrish really likes Wally :) Just sayin'.

LOL, Scott! Wally would be happy to recommend someone to you, depending on what area you choose. (And yes, Scott, I do really like my husband! He is my rock.)
