We booked the Polynesian Fire Luau last week, and it was fantastic. The original location is at Sharkey's Beach Bar, around 6th Avenue north (just south of the old Pavilion area), and the show is outside. The indoor Luau is at the St. John's Inn at 68th Avenue North (near the Caravelle and Long Bay Resort). We chose the indoor show because of reviews about how hot it can be for the outdoor show.
Our tickets were $49.99 each with $24.75 in taxes and fees. Final cost for the three of us = $174.72
The food was very good, and there was plenty of it. They had a pig they had roasted, and a chef pulling pork for you. There was teriyaki chicken, a broiled fish, salads, rice, fresh fruits, and more. There is a cash bar, and Misti and I splurged for a huge drink.
As you enter, there are musicians on stage playing traditional Polynesian music (Hawaiian music). They are very good, and later you find that they are also the dancers and fire twirlers! It is a very small cast of incredibly talented people. Indoors they did several dances, had audience participation, made us laugh, and thoroughly entertained us. At the end of the evening, they opened up a curtain and we walked outside to the pool deck for the fire twirlers.
Outstanding show for all ages. Well worth the money!!
