Looking for a rental for 2014 - close to beach but on an inlet e.g. Murrells Inlet. Request private pool. Anyone have a house they could suggest? Would like to fish so a pier would be great. Will have 3 children under age 3.

Cherry Grove at north end of North Myrtle Beach is an inlet. Feeds a salt water marsh. Not as laid back low country feel as Murrell's Inlet.
Sections of the marsh developed with short channels lined with houses. Some with pools. Bad news is smallest one I found on Elliott was Belair. Sleeps 8.
Might search other realtors like Thomas Century 21 or Grand Strand. Most houses are set up for large groups.

Searching condos you have a couple choices at the inlet. Inlet Pointe Villas and Inlet Villas. Might be more economical for single family vacation.

Just guessing from pictures, Inlet Villas are second row property on Ocean Blvd. Doesn't appear to actually be on the water. Inlet Pointe Villas are right at end of Ocean Blvd with back balconies overlooking the inlet.

At low tide you would have couple hundred yards of flat beach. Lots of fishing at the inlet at low tide. Few blocks south is a small city park back on the marsh. Some fishing decks located along there. About a third of the way up Ocean Blvd driving to the inlet is Cherry Grove Pier. Can rent tackle for fishing off the pier.

Murrells Inlet - Vacation Rentals by Owners: ... ells-inlet

Also, agree that does a good job. We rented a large beach house from them for a family reunion and didn't have any problems!

Try Inlet Point Villas. North Myrtle Beach. We have been going there since my kids were 2 and 7. You won't have to worry about them. It has its own pool. Gated. People are always fishing , crabbing. It has a huge beach. Units 13-15 are more oceanfront. Units 1-7 curve around to the inlet. Then 8 to 11 are inlet marsh view. Across the inlet is Waites Island. It is just very pretty and more nature like. As my kids are now 18 and 12 we have tried different places thought they would want more action but they always said we miss the Inlet and always end up back there. Elliot Realty has some good pictures on their website.

We stayed here in April. Expensive during summer but we had a great rate and it was split between 2 families.
