Where is a good place to stay? I know we want to go north myrtle but which beach is the best. We have 12 people with 4 kids 9-1 years old. Any advice and we cannot tell what second row means? We do not want to have to cross a big street to get to the beach! Thanks cannot wait to find the perfect place.

Location: Charleston, WV ... entals.htm

Four beach sections in NMB. At the north end is Cherry Grove. 3-4 miles of beach.
Next heading south is Ocean Drive. 2-3 miles of beach.
Crescent. Maybe 2 miles.
Undeveloped section of Atlantic Beach which is separate from NMB and then little over a mile of Windy Hill section.

Houses are scattered all along NMB beach sections but most are either between Crescent and Ocean Drive or in Cherry Grove.
Second row is across street from oceanfront property. Ocean Blvd is two lane most of the way through NMB with little traffic. Easy to cross.. The one stretch that is four lane isn't that busy plus with wide median strip it's no problem to cross there. Few budget friendly homes along that stretch anyway. Odds of staying through there would be slim unless you won the lottery.

More often than not you would have little to no view of beach or ocean from second row.
Cherry Grove has inlet fed marsh behind it with rows of channel houses along them. Not a bad option if oceanfront isn't that important.

Road leading into Cherry Grove from RT 17 is called Sea Mountain Highway. Number of dining, beach shop, grocery businesses along the road. Convenient not having to run out to main highway for groceries and such.
Ocean Drive. Main Street. Same as Sea Mountain. Number of businesses plus a couple beach music/ shag dance clubs for the adults and a small amusement park at oceanfront end of street for the kids.
This site used to be good tool to see the different sections. Doesn't seem to work as well as in the past. I can't even get it to switch to NMB.

Nothing wrong with 2nd row and you save a lot of money, 3rd row even more, then you can use the savings to go out and enjoy all the other things we offer besides the beach :)

Check out it cuts out the rental commission and def negotiate pricing, if you don;t your giving more of your fun money away.

We go down to Myrtle Beach every year. We stay at my aunts condo, ... 5&nights=7 you might of already gone to the beach but maybe it will help if not. I like where her condo is, it's north of Myrtle Beach but south of North Myrtle Beach so it's easy to drive either direction.
