So, first trip to MB coming up in September. We decided on a condo at A Place at the Beach IV as it looked like it was a quieter area with less high rises and such overall and close enough to walk to a few watering holes in the evenings, such as Ocean Annie's and possibly Finn McCool's and Harry the Hat's. Anyone with any experience doing so? Don't want to risk the drinking and driving and being so close, not sure that a cab would be worth it.

Also, hard to find information on this condo complex in general other than the postings on VRBO. I trust that the unit I found is going to be great after speaking with the owner and reading some reviews on VRBO from past guests. But as for the area/comples in general, can anyone tell me anything that has stayed there before? I'm not sure what exactly questions I have, just general Shore Drive and APATB information from personal experiences. Thanks.

You've picked a wonderful location for your beach trip. Can't speak for the condo, but the area is quite and the beach is wide.

I love the area, have stayed at Sands Ocean Club there. Very peaceful area and yes you can walk to the bars.

In past years before we moved here we did the Place At The
Beach thru VRBO and were always pleased with that place and
the location, nice quiet area well kept and walking a bit got
you to the drink places, not far but a few minute walk ...

We stayed at Sands Beach Club in June of this year. I loved the area!! We have usually stayed in mid-Myrtle Beach, mainly for the younger adults, older teens to walk the area there. The Shore Drive area though, is extremely quiet. Pictures posted in other trip reports of crowded beaches, were nothing like what we experienced. The beach is extremely wide and very quiet. I would stay in that area again for sure.
