As we walked in the rain, I noticed a storefront with “Legends” on the windows. My initial thought was that the store was a front for a condo tour or some other way to entice passersby to buy something and get “free” tickets to a Legends show for their time.
As I went into the store, I was greeted by a nice young lady behind a counter. When I asked if there was any kind of scam going on (my wife tells me that I am much too bold with what I say to people I don’t know. . .) she assured me that there was no condo sales, etc. going on. The store was there to answer peoples’ questions about the show and if interested, sell them tickets. So I asked her how much the tickets were. She, in turn, asked me when I wanted to attend. I asked about the acts to be performed and she told me that they were: Michael Jackson, Madonna, ABBA, Elvis and Aretha Franklin. She explained that Alan Jackson was scheduled, but he would not be available until the next week. She then asked me if I was interested in going that night. If so, there was a two-for-one special, and children’s tickets were free! I told her that I could not authorized make that level of decision and told her that I would get my wife (who was standing under an overhang across the way). My wife came in and I shared the deal with her. The three of us could see the Legends show that night for $42.95, including tax! My wife agreed that that was a bargain and we bought the tickets. And to top it off, the seats that we bought were in the second row, center!I don’t know if this is an on-going deal, but I strongly suggest that if any MBMB readers are interested in attending the Legends show that they look into buying tickets at the BATB store. An absolutely great deal!
Entering the theater, we were asked to wait in line. We gave our tickets to a lady and were then invited to have our photo taken with Madonna. Thereafter we were invited to see a guy about other local venues. He was a condo hawker, so I decided that I would avoid him. He looked a little shady and I was too tired to play with him this evening. It should be noted that in order for the child holding a ticket to get a free drink and popcorn, he also had to stamp a coupon. Needless to say, we didn’t take advantage of that offer either. . .
Without getting into details (who me?) the show was absolutely outstanding. The characters played their roles well, the musicians were very talented and the costumes, dancers, backup singers and general presentations were excellent. This show was significantly better that the Legends show that we had attended two year before. So not only is the price “right”, the entertainment was top-notch. I think that it was the best show that we have seen at MB. My wife and daughter disagreed, but what do they know?? I highly recommend it.
After the show, we took some photos of Emily with Michael Jackson http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1d60
... /ry%3D400/ and Madonna http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1d60
... /ry%3D400/. They were very nice and quite popular with the attendees. On the way out of the theater, we stopped by to see what our photo with Madonna was like. It was actually quite good, but the ladies didn’t want to spend $20 for it.
Bottom Line: Great show.
