We went in the Sea Screamer a couple of years ago and now will be traveling with a just turned 2 year old in Late April/early May. While looking at my MB visit it's guide my son pointed out the boats and yelled in excitement at the dolphin photos. We would like to take him out on a boat ride and see dolphins but think the Sea Screamer was tok intense for him. Any suggestions? I suppose I will have to make sure they are doing boat rides from 4/27-5/4 as well since it's not summer yet. Thanks!

Ash, good question! The Sea Screamer/Thrill Boat Ride might be too powerful for him. I've been searching for alternative possibilities. The problem with the bigger, slower boats is that they are basically made for deep sea fishing, not just dolphin sightseeing, and they cost more.

The BlueWave (link below) looks promising, and there may be some worth checking out in the next link.

I would not take him on the Sea Screamer, and if I remember correctly there is an age or height requirement. We did take my son on the Sea Thunder when he was 19 months and he LOVED it. It's a great dolphin watching boat ride and is much tamer.

Danny & I went out with Blue Water Adventures a few years ago. We enjoyed our ride, (saw ZERO dolphins but the ride was fun) but I would NOT suggest it for a 2 year old! You are basically in a very large john boat with rubber bumpers around it.... very low on the water, lots of bouncing (& easy for Nolan to fall overboard). I had a hard time staying on myself! I would only suggest this for adults only. Kids just want to move around too much & it's not safe on this boat, especially for a two year old! (But adults would probably enjoy it!)

We have gone out with Hurricane Fleet twice on their dolphin cruise. I can HIGHLY recommend it! We had a blast both times & saw lots of dolphins. Here a link to comments I made to someone's review:
http://www.funbeaches.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=11246

I had done a review comparing the two but cannot find it. I am sure since it was a couple of years old it has been deleted. At any rate, I'd go with Hurricane Fleet with a 2 year old. We did see more families onboard than couples (such as ourselves), many with children younger than 2.

Hope this helps!
