My wife and I are headed down between Christmas and New Years. Unfortunately , we cannot afford to stay at the Regency Towers like we do most years. We have had some rough times this year. Would you help us out with a few suggestions of where you would stay that might be a bit less expensive. We cannot wait to end our year in our favorite place. Thanks for the ideas in advance.

Michael,
You might want to look into SandCastle South in Myrtle Beach, they are having a specail if you book now for a 2015 vacation its 50% off their rates on a room of your choice. It's not the most fanciest place on the Beach but all rooms are ocean front and it's clean.Hope this helps!

There is a small hotel we walk by every day on the way to the beach. It is called Holiday Shores. Their rates are very reasonable, and my brother who stopped there last year told me it was clean.
They always have people there, so it seems to be very popular.
It is not ocean front, but pretty close. Corner of Ocean Boulevard and 75th Ave N.

I always stay at Compass Cove down the south end and looks like their rates are roughly 69.00 a night and 79.00 on weekend that week.

my 2 cents :)

Before the Regency, we used to stay at the Compass Cove, when it was the Swamp Fox. We are seriously considering it. I wanted to see if there were any other good alternatives that folks liked. I have to say we have been spoiled by the size and quality of the rooms at Regency. Just cannot afford it until the job situation changes.

I liked my stay at the Ocean Reef. Loved that area of the beach. So many good eating options in walking distance.

I will second what missingthebeach said about the Ocean Reef. Of all the places we've stayed in MB, that is our favorite. Check out the parlor rooms.

We vacationed at St Clements (part if Caravelle) for 16 years before moving down here. It is only 7 floors and right up close the the beach. Rooms are homey and have a great view of the ocean, unless you take the rooms on either the far right or left. I checked quick and rooms for that week run from 43 to 58 a day.
Have a great time where ever you end up !

We decided on the Coral Beach after lots of research. It seems like their rooms are bigger than most, and there were lots of good reviews. Has anyone here ever stayed there? I can't wait to be in MB!

After a lot of research I found out that Coral Beach is the best place ever seen. The room is big and even got a positive response from my friends. I had visited last year. There are many beach parties held almost every now and then. So I would like to advise you to carry your swim suit and accessories needed.
