Last April, my family (3 kids, ages 5-9) and I stayed at the Dunes Village Resort and we had a great time. This year, we're coming down the last week of March and I'm interested to see if there is a similar or better place to stay with the same amenities, especially with indoor pool activities (the kids enjoyed them on the day it rained).

Any ideas? We'd prefer to stay in North Myrtle Beach or the northern section of Myrtle Beach proper but are flexible. We need to have a kitchen and I'm pushing for a 2 bedroom place if possible.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome

I am not familiar with Dunes Village but if you are wanting a 2 bedroom and to stay on the northern end you might want to check into getting a condo. Many times it is cheaper to go the condo route and there should be tons available in March. Check out VRBO.

Thanks for choosing to join our message board. As Deanna mentioned, many people use VRBO,com and are happy with it. Here are some other suggestions for the northern end or North Myrtle Beach:

Unfortunately, there are no other places resembling Dunes Village. Most area resorts feature outdoor water play areas.

Actually, there are quite a few of indoor pools, lazy rivers and kids area but nothing as large as Dunes Village. Compass Cove has the most pools in the area.

Sea Watch Resort also has many pools, including a large indoor one.

While looking at hotels with indoor pools for a Winter visit to Myrtle, we discovered Compass Cove. We've never stayed there, but the new waterslides and games area looks pretty neat, and the prices are very reasonable this time of year. Had we been able to come down for a weekend in the Winter, we probably would have stayed there. Check out the water attractions: http://www.compasscove.com/amenities/water-attractions
