Anyone who has played Blackmoor what are your thoughts?

You don't want to play there today :) The course holds water, otherwise it is a very nice course, a number of great holes and challenging yet subdued. You have a split fairway on one hole, if you take this shortcut you better keep it straight, some raised tee boxes, houses are not on every hole and one fairway has an old Confederate burial area off to the left.

We played it back in June. Nice course conditions and nice staff. Didn't much like the course though. Pretty much have to design with what you have and almost the entire back nine is hard right turn doglegs. I don't mind a few doglegs on a course, but blackmoor is pretty much overkill with them. Way too many doglegs for my liking.

Played it a few years ago, and the main thing I remember was the greens being perfectly flat and very fast. No undulation on any green that I can remember, and that is very strange to those of us who live up in the mountains and are used to reading some ridiculous breaks. I've not played any course in Myrtle that had greens so fast.

Pretty course, too.
