We would be golfing in March in MB. How are courses conditions versus October? Is bermuda still dormant and brown?

March / April are Spring Peak Season.

We used to come down in Feb and March and usually had really good conditions. Sometimes a bit chilly in the morning those....

Bermuda is dormant and brown but usually just the rough - everything else would probably be overseeded (which is 1 disadvantage of October.... playing on the new overseed...)

Overall March is a great time to play down there....

We changed to October for our annual trip.... Weather is super... ocean still "New Jersey Warm" and swimable.... Plus we're in golf shape after playing all summer up north...

Courses will be in great shape and busy, this is the peak season and of course the most expensive time to play. :)

You are right on the expensive part. What surprises me though is that summer play is actually not more affordable than what it is. Yes, it is a pretty big drop from prime time rates, but is still quite expensive compared to quality courses in my area. Even the "lower level" course want around $50 for a morning round in the summer. That's quite a bit of money to spend considering I can play much better courses here at home for around $40. I wouldn't mind to pay $60 or $70 for a pretty good course in Myrtle during the dog days of summer, but I wish that you could sneak some $30-$40 rounds in at some of the middle tier courses in the area.
