My boys are 6 and 4. The 6 year old is the one who definitely wants to go there but I don't want to spend the money if he can't even drive the cars.

If your 6 year old wants to go, then I really think you should do it! The Speedpark has changed their rules from when they first opened. You can now enter the speedpark without paying. And you can buy individual tickets for the rides instead of paying for an arm band.

There are a few things that a 4 and 6 year-old can do. There are a few rides (small ferris wheel, tea cups, whip), and one track called The Qualifier. The rest of the tracks are too big, and your kids would not be allowed to ride on them. However, one or two tracks allow a child to ride along with an adult. There are two 18 hole mini-golf courses, but they aren't anything special, and they cost extra.

There is also a very large arcade when you enter the main gate (you have to go through the arcade to get outside to the tracks). The arcade includes all kinds of games, not just racing games. There is also a snack bar inside in the air conditioning.

Your 6 year-old will love the Qualifier. It is the only track I've seen for kids that young that is a "real" go-kart track. You don't have to worry about bigger kids or faster cars, either.

I suggest you go and give it a try. Check out what you think your kids can or can't do BEFORE you buy any tickets. Find out how many tickets it takes to dive the Qualifier and see if your son likes. If so, then you can buy more. If you discover that there isn't enough there to justify the money, then the only thing you've spent is the time to check it out.
