Aldi foods just announced that they will be opening a new store near 544 and bypass 17. Looking forward to it. Wonder exactly where. :nanner:

Well, we can't be sure until we hear the official announcement, I heard Aldi is coming to Carolina Forest, and then I heard it was coming to the new intersection of 17 bypass and Farrow Pky near the Market Common/Coventry Blvd.

But The Sun News thinks they are coming to17 Bypass and Hwy. 544. That would put them in the area near Marshall's, Targert, and across the street from the strip center that houses Which Wich and Burger Fi. (???) Or the address could also put them across the street (sort of) from Target and Marshall's, near Ruby Tuesday (???)

Bottom line...I have no idea.

Is this the first Aldi's? Never paid attention before. I'm shopping there a lot because they take credit cards now and are more reasonable then my other grocery options. Great for single people.

That's great! We have an Aldi in walking distance from my house and I love it! We have saved so much money since I started shopping there!

Coventry is in Surfside where Wicked Stick Golf Course was located. (Not far from Surfside Wal Mart.) The golf course land is being redeveloped into homes, and when the club house is demolished that area will be used to build stores, including Aldi.

I'll let you know about the MI location whenever it is announced.

So my Wicked Stick golf shirt is now a collectors edition? I didnt know it had went under, although with 2 kids now, I dont think I have took my clubs to the beach in about 7 years.

We played it many years ago and it had three or four temporary greens. That's never a good thing for a golf course. It is a great location and with the right financial backing and not in a flooded market it may have survived. I called a few years ago wanting a quick round out of convenience and the man at the clubhouse named more than a couple of issues with the course and the price still wasn't slashed that much. Probably better that it is used for something else.

Any chance someone can run down there and find the dozen or so balls I hit into neighbor's yards over the years? Not your yard of course, but some yards...
