We decided to go here today early before it got too crowded. When you get there they explain the 3 attractions they have. The Hollywood wax museum, outbreak and Hannah's house of mirrors. The best deal is to get all 3, you save the most money. We just wanted the wax museum, and it was $17.95 for adults. It cost for the 4 of us $77.19 with tax. We could have bought tickets online and saved a dollar per person.

The first celebrity you see is Eddie Murphy, he looked life-like. Can't say that for many here, they didn't look much like the celebrity. When I get home and get the pictures off my camera I will post them. It took us 45 minutes to go through, and get pictures of all the figures. It would take longer I'm sure if we had to wait while others were taking pics. We don't think it was worth the price we paid. The wax figures need work, and the details of the celebs needed to be corrected. One display Miley Cyrus was supposed to be there, but Selena Gomez was there instead. A Meryl Streep detail they had wrong, was her Movie Julie & Julia, they had her listed as playing Julia Styles, instead of Julia Child. I have never been to one of these before, so it was cool to see. Brit's friend Adrianna had been to madame tussaud and she said the wax figures looked like the celebrities in NY compared to here. There are more celebrities in NY too she said. There were over 100 celebs here, but I think there should have been more.

I would give it a 6 out of 10 rating. I would like to go and checkout the Outbreak one, maybe next year with my son and his girlfriend. If you have never been to a wax museum I would say go check it out, but if you've been to the Madame Tussaud save your money.

Thank you for the review. :hello:

The Julia Styles thing is hilarious!

I'd rather see Selena than Miley Cyrus any day, so that's cool.

I still want to go. Have been so curious about what it is like!

What is Outbreak?

If my Son and girlfriend would have been able to come along, there would be a review for it. They both love that kind of scary stuff. If they could find full time jobs doing that(scaring people), they would be doing it.

Thanks for the link, Emmy.

I'm thinking that Outbreak is probably not my speed. Lol

We were down there the previous week and saw it when we went to the Grand Prix, so we checked it out the next day. We did go to all three attractions. The wax museum was pretty cool, but some figures were better than others. Some were creepy good, while others you had to read the sign to know for sure who they were. Outbreak was your typical haunted house like walk-through. All of the characters were animatronic and there were automated things that triggered throughout. Overall not bad but not super scary either. The mirror maze was nicely done. We had a lot of fun in there.

We took about 2 hours to go through all 3 attractions and they weren't crowded that day. Going in, I was expecting a much shorter trip and to be disappointed so I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of characters. We've been to Ripley's a couple of times and always felt let down - we didn't get that feeling this time. I am glad we got to go when this place first opened, because I have a feeling that some of the figures might not hold up over time with some of the rowdy crowds that come through.

Thanks for posting the picture and link!

Who is this picture supposed to be of?
I'm guessing that she doesn't wear brown eye shadow on her nose in real life! Ha!

I usually can identify the "stars" but this one has me stumped.

I can see that some of the figures are more convincing than others.

Wow. Ok.

Maybe JLo's less fortunate cousin...

Thanks for the review. I was never into wax museums, so I'll avoid this place for sure. How long do you think they'll be there before shutting down? lol

My son and I were at the beach this past week and we checked out the wax museum.
Some of it was a hoot. Some of the figures seemed more like caricatures.

Liz Taylor as Cleopatra was cool. Clint Eastwood was good. The sci-fi creatures were neat.
The display that really bugged me was Donny and Marie Osmond. They made Donny cross-eyed! His hair was bad and their signature Osmond teeth - ugh - Marie looked like a chain-smoker!
Yes, I'm a long time Osmond fan.

They should get someone to maintain the hair on the figures. Princess Di looked pretty disheveled, too.

My advice to tourists would be to go if you won't miss the money too much.
Two admission tickets aren't so bad, but if I would have forked out $$ for four tickets or more, I might not have been so happy.

You got Donny from a good angle. He doesn't look so cross-eyed in your picture.

The day we were there it looked like a few too many ladies my age had run their fingers through his hair, ha!

We did the museum and had a blast posing with the celebrities. I could see where it wouldn't be much fun for some people, but my daughter and I are ALL about hamming it up so we were "kissing" George Clooney at the alter, dancing with Michael Jackson, screaming with PINK and taking selfies like crazy people! We blew up INSTAGRAM with our silly fun. Some wax figures were NOT very good, but it was still cool. And this is not an attraction that one would want to revisit over and over again, but one time was fun!
