We will be leaving for North Myrtle Beach on Friday (hopefully at 5 am) from NEPA. We are planning on traveling I-81 to I-66 to 17S to I-95 to an overnight stop maybe near Wilson. (I would like to avoid 270 and the beltway.) The next morning we will follow the directions from Wilson that are posted here.

Any comments, suggestions, or up-to-date traffic/construction information regarding this route?

Also my father is leaving on Sunday and is planning on driving along Rt. 13 and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel and then Rt 17. Any comments on this plan?

Thanks

We always use Rte 13 and Chesapeak Bay Bridge Tunnel from Central Bucks County, PA and prefer this to going through Baltimore and Washington. We take 58 West in Suffolk to Emporia and then pick up 95. It is more miles but I do not like traveling on 95 for extended period of time. We are also leaving early Friday morning.
