I hope that this topic is not too old to bring up again,but we are heading to NMB on the 19th of February and were looking for different/quicker directions than going 77 South all the way to Columbia.

Mapquest takes us 77 S to 74 E to 40 E to 220 S to US 1 to SC 9 to SC 38 to US 501. How does this route work? I understand that 77 S to Columbia I can drive faster, but looking to chop off some driving time if possible. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!!

We drove the 701, 9 and 17 section last year and it was a great alternative to 38 and 501. It was a pretty drive, too.
