I have been to Myrtle numerous times from Detroit. I normally take 80/90 to I-77 to get thru Ohio. Lately all of the mapping sites and GPS have me taking 23/35 thru Columbus. Has something changed to make that a more desirable route, how are the roads and the driving compared to I-77, most of the sites are saying I would save 45 minutes by cutting thru 23/35 to Charleston.

We did that way once...then went back to the 80/90. It's less hassle to me -- straight roads with steady speed, instead of having to drive thru all the towns/stoplights/etc the 23 way. We did it in the dark, and let me tell you - those semis scared the heck out of me flying around all the twists and turns of the river! I don't remember saving that much time.

I hate driving in Ohio - I'm coming from the "thumb" of MI area, so it takes us over 8 hours of our drive to get from home to WVa - believe me, I've tried every possible way to get thru Ohio faster! lol
