Target opened yesterday after the ribbon cutting yesterday at 5 PM. The "official" opening is Sunday, but they were doing
quite a business today! Huge store. Excellent grocery department, and not as crowded as I thought it might be.

The 24 cents got my attention until I realized it was per banana not pound,
marketing done correctly :)

I had a friend who overheard the store manager say they were forecasted to do $54K in sales on Wednesday and by 6 PM had over $116K with hours to go.

Speaking of marketing done right, (but is wrong) I just realized last week that I have been buying My Essentials (Food Lion) milk thinking it was hormone free, I was pointing out the label to a friend when it hit me, it states "our farmers pledge not to use artificial hormones" there are 3 kinds of artificial hormones used in cows and 3 natural ones, so no more My Essentials for me. Did you know that in Europe it is illegal to use any hormones in cattle, has been since the 80's due to the danger to humane consumption.

If 2 bananas equal a pound, then Bottom Dollar food is the same price. Their bananas are 48 cents a pound. I'll have to check the label on our milk too, since we get the same My Essentials. When we shopped at Food Lion when we were down in MB, we saw the My Essential brand and wondered why it was here? Then we asked, and sure enough they are with Bottom Dollar. :sunny:
